Prepare for parenthood with confidence! Our evening course, held over 3 weeks, offers a complete guide to labour, birth, and baby care, all within a friendly and relaxed setting.

The course is planned for ladies and partners around the 33 – 35 weeks of pregnancy… still time to practice, but also time to keep it fresh in your mind when you go into labour.

However, if you are either earlier or closer to your expected date of delivery than these dates permit,  and wish to attend, then please do not hesitate to book onto the course of your choice.

Dates to follow:
  • Tuesday 21st, 28th April and Tuesday 5th May 2026.
  • Tuesday 26th May, 2nd June and 9th June 2026.
  • Tuesday 23rd, 30th June and Tuesday 7th July 2026.
  • Tuesday 28th July, 4th and 11th August 2026.
  • Tuesday 1st Sep, 8th Sep and 15th Sep 2026.
  • Tuesday 6th Oct, 13th Oct and 20th Oct 2026.
  • Start time: 19.00 – 21.00
  • The venue: The Church Hall, St Mary Immaculate, West Street, Warwick. CV34 6AB
  • Clothing: As we will be utilising birth balls and peanut balls, please wear comfortable shoes, trousers and top.
  • Equipment: We have a limited number of yoga mats and pillows available, but if you have your own, then please do bring them. This applies to both the pregnant woman and her birth partner.

  • Attendance at the three week course for two people.
  • Refreshments. Tea/coffee, juices, and water, 
  • Equipment and beads to make your own personal ‘labour beads’.
  • An information wallet with support and advice on topics discussed during the workshop.

Class 1

Labour and Birth
  • Introductions. Getting to know everyone, sharing previous experience and discussing biggest fears.
  • A bit of physiology. Understanding cervical changes, the progress of labour and stages of labour.
  • Latent/early labour (begin to make your own personal labour beads)
  • Partners. How to help at home, when to call the hospital for advice.
  • Care and support in labour (adding to your labour beads).
  • Birth balls and peanut balls practice.
  • The birth of your baby (completing your labour beads).
  • Relaxation period for everyone.

Class 2

Birth Plan Adaptations and Baby Care
  • Any questions from Day 1.
  • Informed consent, advice and recommendations from other health professionals.
  • Stronger forms of pain relief, monitoring and observations of the mother and unborn baby.
  • When an instrumental delivery or caesarean section is advised. Consent, birth partner’s role and support. What happens after the baby is born?
  • Infant feeding. Human feeding (formerly breast feeding) or bottle?
  • Initial baby care (first examination, Vit K)
  • Handling your baby, safe sleeping and midwives home visits. 
  • Relaxation period for everyone.

FAQ's

Do you offer discounts for solo-parent families?

Yes, if you attend the course alone (without a Birth Partner), the course fee will be reduced by 50%. Please email us at hello@countdowntocuddles.co.uk

If you miss sessions due to a pre-term delivery (before 32/40 of pregnancy), you are eligible for a refund for the missed sessions. The refund must be requested within 28 days of the baby’s birth.

A refund will not be offered within 4 weeks of the course start date unless it is considered an “Exceptional Circumstance,” which is determined at the sole discretion of Countdown to Cuddles. You may be asked for supporting documents. A full refund will be supported in the event of a pregnancy bereavement prior to attendance at a workshop.

  • Within 14 days of initial booking: Full refund.

     
  • More than 4 weeks before the course start date: A refund of 75% of the course fee may be offered, subject to discretion regarding exceptional circumstances.

     
  • Within 4 weeks of the course start date: No refund will be offered, unless in exceptional circumstances, subject to discretion.

     
  • After the course has started: No refund will be offered.

     
  • Pre-term delivery: A refund for missed sessions is offered if requested within 28 days of the birth.

     
  • Pregnancy bereavement (prior to workshop): A full refund will be supported if claimed within 28 days of the bereavement.
